Segregated Funds
Segregated Funds are offered through our preferred network of Life Insurance Partners. This investment structure offers a number of contractual benefits which make them ideal for Estate Planning and clients who like to mitigate risk.
Unlike other investments, benefits paid from a segregated fund contract can bypass your estate upon death. Proceeds can be paid directly to your beneficiaries without being subject to the estate administration/probate process and associated taxes or fees.
This allows you to leave a legacy to your heirs quickly, privately and cost-effectively.
Responsible Investment
Growing Market, Growing Opportunities
In a world where climate change, water scarcity and global supply chain issues dominate the business pages, it has become apparent that the tools that investment managers have traditionally used to manage risk simply are not up to the task anymore. Responsible investment (RI) strategies are addressing that need. RI is the incorporation of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into the selection and management of investments.
In a 2018 Investor Opinion Survey conducted by Ipsos polled 800 individual investors in Canada and found that 81% of respondents are concerned about climate change and the environment. It also found most investors view climate change as a financial issue, while 70% of respondents believe climate change will have negative financial impacts on companies in some industries within the next five years, and 79% believe this to be true within twenty years.
66% of respondents said they would like a portion of their portfolio to be invested in companies that are providing solutions to climate change and other environmental challenges.
Zakus & Associates Wealth Management Inc. through our investment partners are able to help our clients reduce risk and maximize opportunities to invest in a sustainable future.
